They want me to wait 6 more months, but I told them that i just can't help it.. I love him.. so they are happy for me nonetheless!! :) I made my grandma a painting. I call it, "Vicious Beaks Shredding Flowers," but I didn't tell her that's what it was called (because it's such a happy painting with cute birds!):

Man, it's really getting closer now!! Besides getting married and moving to Japan, the other thing I'm most excited about is quitting that fish job of mine and NEVER AGAIN have to put up with my dirty old man boss (=______=) Yes, it makes me EXTREMELY happy!!!!! Things are all turning out just wonderful!! Tottemo subarashi!!!! Sore demo........ atashi no nihon go wa chotto dame... |

You know what? I have a brain. I am a thinking, doing person. I am a driven young gal with serious goals and TONS of plans for life, and I plan on doing them all!
I have a LOT of things going for me, and I plan on going for them all!
I am gonna DO and BE and FEEL and EXPERIENCE these things, even if nobody else is there to witness it. Jehovah is with me until the end.
Outside, my family may see this when they look at me: A young, inexperienced girl. She really likes her non-American boyfriend. She's a little brainwashed by a religious cult, but she is still pretty and seems to be happy. She doesn't know what she wants to do with her life but she doesn't think that far ahead - all she wants to do right now is run away to another country with her non-American boyfriend and play for a while, and when she gets bored, she's gonna come back to the States and maybe find something to do that will make her life interesting.
But inside, I really want them to see the REAL me: A young, inexperienced but mature girl. She is totally, unselfishly, head-over-heals in love with her best friend/fiance who lives in Japan. She's come to understand the practical wisdom of the Bible and tries her best to apply it in her day-to-day living, thus having a happy outlook on life and creation. She doesn't have any career goals or long-term secular pursuits, but she strives to have a life full of new experiences and good memories while doing everything with Jehovah's interest in mind. She plans on coming back to the States with her husband in a couple of years and start a fulfilling family life as a wife, mother, and as a thinking, doing, feeling, and being woman.
I AM me, and nobody else. I have a mind and I'm not blind.
Have you ever wanted someone to see that YOU are an incredibly interesting person, yet no matter what you do or say, they just don't seem to see it? Gosh it's totally frustrating, especially when it's your own family. Sometimes I really do feel lonely though. Maybe they don't think so but right now, as I look at my positives, I am a very special person. |

I LOVE SHIRO MISO!!!!!!!! My tastes are inclined way more to the Kansai style of cooking but maybe that's just because that's all I've eating so far. I still prefer shiro miso over aka miso, though. Kansai cooking feels more familiar to me though whereas Kanto foods are totally alien. I need to keep an open mind though and not become one of those prideful one-sided town people. I hope Tokyo has good takoyaki....

I just bought some felt flowers for my betta bowl and it looks a LOT happier, plus a LOT prettier!!! Now it has leaves and flowers to hide in, just like in its natural habitat.
 .:*♡ FISH ♡*:.
**** Betta Splendis' natural habitat are narrow water spaces with lots of plant life floating along the surface. They're naturally from the rice fields of Siam; thus the name Siamese fighting fish. Their diet consists of bugs or other such things that float along the water's surface. The betta carefully approaches its prey and suddenly attacks it with a quick jump. Bettas are friendly to other fish by nature but hate their male counterparts - however it's ideal to keep a few female betta with one male. **** |

Today, I love milk. From the very first sip of refreshment to the last drop of the aftertaste of its fat - I love milk today. A milk eaten with an apple is almost the perfect meal/snack!
Yesterday, I loved sweet plum juice and fermented plums at the highest quality guaranteed by Shop Minoya. I also ate the highest quality of nori dipped in soy sauce with my rice.
Tomorrow, I may eat peanuts and marzipan and drink orange juice! Among other things of course.

ps.. something important: Dear Old Chinese Men of the World, Please stop hitting on me. It's really creepy. Thanks, - Jennifer Yeah, I'm taken by an awesome Japanese man. Deal with it!! |

Actually, her music ironically reminds me of one of those relaxing sunny days at a beach, or going out in the morning to my garden to see if my sunflowers are strong and healthy, or maybe sitting at the top of some gigantic building in New York at a jazz club/cafe while overlooking the city night lights. Very relaxing and kind of hip.

[Edit:] I just made this PERSONAL JOURNAL ENTRY directed to my friends and people who respect my opinions because I was so excited after reading these accounts in the bible that I wanted to tell everyone I know. If someone doesn't agree with or even like what I learn/believe, it would be considerate of them to keep their negative feelings to themselves. I do not claim to represent the Christian Congrigation of Jehovah's Witnesses - I am just a (new) bible student who has decided to learn about what she considers is the truth. I'm not posting this entry to debate about biblical truth, rather I'd just like to simply tell anyone what I've seen in the Bible.
* * * * *
Every year around Christmas time, articles come out in the newspapers, stories are broadcasted on TV, and teachers teach children about how Christmas really came about. In fact it used to be outlawed in the United States because the purists knew how pagan it really is. The pine tree with candles/lights, present-giving, Santa Clause, extreme commercialism etc. has NOTHING to do with Jesus Christ!! Not only that but the sources to most of Christmas' traditions are entirely pagan (not of Christianity.) In fact, Jesus' birth isn't even mentioned or commanded to celebrate in the Bible. Interestingly enough though, it was a direct commandment to remember him on the day of his death.
Taking a stand back from everything, it's really amazing to see how the world really is. Besides being overwhelmed by the sight of the world's "Christian" desire to take part in a celebration that is anything BUT biblical, I am absolutely ASTOUNDED that so many people are totally misinformed about the "Three Wise Men" and the account of Jesus' birth. As it is stated in the King James version, the Revised Standard Version, the New International Version as well as the New World Translation, the three wise men were actually astrologers sent by King Harod to kill the prophesised King of the Jews (Jesus.) Matthew ch.2 says that King Harod was "agitated" and asked all of his scribes to find out where Jesus was to be born. "Then Harod secretly summoned the astrologers and carefully ascertained from them the time of the star's appearing... and said to them, "Go make a careful search for the YOUNG CHILD [not baby], and when you have found it report back to me... I may go and do it [worship.]" -Matthew 2:7,8. However it just stated in verse 3 King Harod was agitated at Jesus' birth because he felt threatened for his kingship. Is it reasonable to say that he wanted to go 'worship Jesus' with these astrologers? Frankly, King Harod wanted them to find Jesus using astrology (a pagan practice that is directly commandmened not to practice in Deutaronomy 18:10-12) so that they could kill him. These three "wise men", or astrologers, see a star that glides up to the point where Jesus is. Is this star from God? Why would God want astrologers (practicers of things that are not acceptable to God) to find Jesus when they plan on killing him? Lets find out what is going on... Matthew 2:11 says that they went into A HOUSE (not a manger) and had a change of heart when they saw Mary and her YOUNG CHILD (not infant.) They did an act of [worship] to him and presented him with gifts they were carrying around (not to give to Jesus originally, but after having a change of heart they gave him all they had.) They each then had a dream of God commanding them to not return to King Herod, so they went back to their country another way. So, 1) The three wise men were actually astronomers sent to kill Jesus 2) Jesus was not an infant at a manger when they found him. He was in a house with Mary as a young child (Matt 2:16 states that King Harod was so angry that he sent everyone to kill every child under 2 years old - but Jesus was protected and obviously wasn't killed.) 3) The star was not from God, for reasonably Jehovah God would have never led a group of men with free will aimed to kill Jesus to the location of Jesus' being.
There is, however, a story in Luke 2:8-20 about shepherds (not 3; not even stated how many) who did come to Jesus' birth place at the manger a couple of days after his birth. They didn't go there to 'celebrate his birthday' - they went to simply verify that Jesus was the prophesised King of the Jews and see for themselves if it was really true. They didn't bring gifts, they didn't stay long. After they simply witnessed Jesus as a baby they retured to their flocks.
So... what was I always told before about Christmas? I was told that: Jesus was born in a manger and the night of his birth God lead the Three Wise Men to Jesus' manger to present him with gifts and celebrate the day of his birth. That was it. Boy, when people change even the smallest details of important facts, it really changes a lot doesn't it?
It's reasons like this that I am so so so greatful to study with Jehovah's Witnesses and receive ACCURATE information about what really happened in the Bible. And anyone can see these things for themselves for each truth is written in God's Word. Just take a look! Any bible! See for yourself that it is written! I don't understand how people ignore these things!!! |

| Jesus' fascinating birth |
|
|

"IMPOSSIBLE!" Many non-Christians would say this upon hearing the story about the birth of Jesus. They feel that it is unscientific to believe that a virgin girl could conceive and give birth to a son without the aid of a human father. What do you think?
In 1984, The Times of London published a letter that reasoned on this matter, stating: "It is not logically valid to use science as an argument against miracles. To believe that miracles cannot happen is as much an act of faith as to believe that they can happen." The letter was signed by 14 professors of science in British universities. They said: "We gladly accept the virgin birth, the Gospel miracles, and the resurrection of Christ as historical events."
Though fascinating, the events surrounding Jesus' birth were not recorded in the Bible to entertain people. Rather, they form part of all Scripture that God inspired for teaching and for setting things straight. —2 Timothy 3:16.
If God had wanted Christians to celebrate Jesus' birth, then the Bible would have provided the exact date. Does it? After mentioning that Jesus was born at a time when shepherds were out-of-doors at night watching their flocks, 19th-century Bible scholar Albert Barnes concluded: "It is clear from this that our Saviour was born before the 25th of December . . . At that time it is cold, and especially in the high and mountainous regions about Bethlehem. God has concealed the time of [Jesus'] birth. . . . Nor was it of consequence to know the time; if it had been, God would have preserved the record of it."
By contrast, the four Gospel writers clearly inform us of the day on which Jesus died. It happened on the day of the Passover, which was held on the 14th of the Jewish month Nisan, in the spring. Moreover, Jesus specifically commanded his followers to commemorate that day in remembrance of him. (Luke 22:19) The Bible contains no such command to celebrate Jesus' birthday, nor, for that matter, any other person's birthday. Sadly, controversies over the date of Jesus' birth may overshadow the more noteworthy events that took place about that time.

It's been 2 weeks since I got my new fish, a job at the fish store, and my knowledge about fish has skyrocketed!!! I have 3 lively parrot fish and 1 cat fish plus 1 suck fish. They live in a 10 gallon tank with some fake plants and a rock inside! I love my fish. A lot.
I worried about them all day actually because they've been really stressed lately. After they all got aquainted with eachother, they were really playful and cute until it got really cold outside and every morning their tank was foggy (because the air was cold compared to the water.) They've been keeling over every morning and night and they won't eat, and it makes me scared!! My boss, Mr. How, told me today that they may be stressed because their water's temperature is fluxuating. So today I bought a thermometer and heater, and filled up the tank all the way to the top with water. I also bought a gravel cleaner suck tube thing, which cleans the poop and stuff under the gravel (for cleaner fish, happier fish!)~ Well, they seemed to LOVE getting some of the plants out of the way (i took some plants out of the tank) and getting their water filled up to the top. However, it wasn't until I put the heater in that they started to freak out once I plugged it in. The heater got the water to the right temperature fortunately, but then UNfortunately they started to keel over BIG TIME............. so I really hope they don't die and I hope that this will make them happier over time. My fish. ♡
I'm thinking to quit TOMO's, and Mr. How said that I could work for him every day. I get paid better AND it's less stressful (come on, working with fish...) Plus I'd get to sleep in every day I wanted. Work starts at 2pm and ends at 7pm. He lets me draw, eat, feed the fishes, stand outside, leave the store to buy coffee, etc. and I get paid for it all!! Hmmm let me think about it.
I joined the Theocratic Ministry School at the local Congrigation!!!!! I'm pretty excited. I feel like I'm going to be receiving a professional, enriching education in speech and speech phychology. This is awesome. I absolutely love going to the meetings because I feel that I'm getting the best education available in existance for free, seriously. It's inspiring.
Hahahaha awwww..... it's pitch dark except for the dim light that keeps flickering from the heater, and the fish are FASCINATED... please don't die ;0;,,,, I'VE HAD KOIBITO STUCK IN MY HEAD ALL DAY ♡ "Please, love me more & more"~ |

( driving motorcycle on freeway in Tokyo )
I totally miss this about Japan lol. Yuta drove like this, only slower (in and out of traffic) and at first I was thinking, "How is this possible?!" but everything is so small - including the roads - that people eventually get used to, and skilled at, riding so close to everything. But this guy is insane to do it on the freeway at that speed!! (I'm kind of nervous about my licence conversion... after about 1 year, I have to convert my licence to be able to continue driving in Japan and I think my restrictions will be to 450cc bikes. But by then maybe driving will be a sinch!) Speaking of which, Yuta was telling me about how Tokyo has a lot of bike routes and things to do and see while on your motorcycle. There are even Rider Cafes (!!!) and I hear the Tokyo nightlife is wild!! I can't wait to explore everything!! I wanna go everywhere and see it all! Basically, I'm totally pumped for it all! that's for sure!! (o≧▽゚)o |

| JENNIFER'S NABEYAKI UDON RECIPIE |
|
|
| 11:24pm 06/09/2007 |
| |
|
music: Story of the Year - Take Me Back
|

.☆.。.:*・ JENNIFER'S NABEYAKI UDON RECIPIE・*: .。.☆ Servings: 2
* 2-4 tablespoons dashi powder * 1 can tuna * 1 carrot * 1/3 onion * 6-8 dried large shitake mushrooms * dried udon noodle * 1-2 eggs * 5-8 tablespoons soy sauce * 5-6 cups water (to boil) * onion salt (optional)
[1] PREPARE INGREDIENTS: boil 5-6 cups of water in a pot. Cut the carrot and onion into slices. Lay out the shitake mushrooms. Drain tuna from the can. Put eggs aside. Finally, sort out how much udon you will want to serve.
[2] When water comes to a complete boil, put the carrots in first. Let them boil for around 3-5 minutes before adding onions and mushrooms.
[3] Add the dashi powder, soy sauce and onion salt (optional/for flavor) to boiling water, occasionally stirring ingredients together.
[4] After ingredients have been boiling together for around 7-10 minutes, add eggs and tuna. Do not stir eggs - let them boil like a hard-boiled egg. (You can stir around the sides to keep ingredients from sticking to pot.) Let eggs boil for 3-5 minutes, then turn down the heat.
[5] In another boiling pot, boil udon noodle for 12 minutes on medium heat. Drain noodles and put them into bowls.
[6] SERVING: first scoop out ingredients you want into each bowl, then add the soup base. Do not fill with too much soup.
[7] !!!ENJOY!!! YUMM (you can mix the udon and ingredients together like I did in the photo after you serve!)
What's good about this recipie is that it's flavorful, healthy, and cheap. I just made it up tonight and it tastes really good. You can add chicken instead of tuna or any other meat substitute (I used to not add any meat, but meat/fish makes the flavor stronger.) Nabeyaki udon can be a mixture of anything really - you can even add cabbage, celery, corn, mochi, anything to your soup mixture. Be creative! Add as much or as less of the ingredients as you want, based on your own preferences. |
